ECOsmarte City Water systems require no regular maintenance and are self cleaning through an automatic backwash cycle based on gallons used. We suggest checking the Ionization/Oxydation chamber occasionally to confirm it remains clear. Well Water Oxidation Chambers may require regular cleaning in areas with high iron content in water. ECOsmarte Wholehouse Filter Media is designed to last for over 8 years or 1 Million Gallons of water. Please consult your owners manual or contact ECOsmarte for the simple steps for cleaning your chambers and rebedding media.

Standard Pool and Spa Systems

Operation of the ECOsmarte system consists of performing weekly / Bi-Weekly tests of the waters copper ion level and pH. If ionization is needed, the switch on the front of the control box will need to be switched to ionization until the copper level reaches the desired level. At that time, the user should switch the unit from ionization to oxidation. Some spa owners may only need to provide ionization once per month.

Programmable System and Fully Automated Pool Systems

The Programmable System and Fully Automated system with pH control manage the ionization and oxidation cycle by the ECOsmarte Programmable controller. The cycles turn on and off at the same times each week. This allows the pool to be properly ionized and oxidized at all times. The Fully Automated system additionally manages pH and keeps your pool water balanced. The fully automated system does not require any chemical management for normal operation and testing confirms normal operation.
